Library Policies
As a public library, we do have some policies in place that help us run as best we can, as well as to protect both the library and our patrons. Below you can find our currently active policies, as approved by our Library Board of Trustees. Behavior in the Library
This policy explains what patrons, visitors, and anyone inside either of
our buildings can and cannot do here, as well as
what steps will be taken to uphold these rules.

This policy explains our method for developing, curating, and
maintaining the physical and digital collection.
Computer & Internet Use
These are the rules and procedures for using the public computers
and our provided internet at the library.
Donations & Memorials
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for accepting
donations made to the Huntington City-Township Public Library.
Fines & Fees
This policy breaks down our various fines and fees.
Hours of Operation & Closure
The Library will establish and maintain a regular schedule of
open hours for both the Huntington and Markle locations. This
policy outlines the process for setting these dates.
Library Cards
Library cards are issued at no charge to residents or real property
owners of Huntington City-Township and the Town of Markle.

Lost & Damanged Materials
This policy outlines the process for damaged materials, including
how replacements are handled and what the cost is for the
patron who damanged the item.
Material Loans
This policy outlines the process by which patrons can borrow the
various materials in the library collection. This includes
borrowing time periods, renewal options, and fines and fees.
Meeting & Study Rooms
The Huntington Library and Markle Branch have various meeting and
study rooms available for use by patrons and community
organizations. This policy sets the regulations to be followed
by those borrowing the rooms.
Mobile Hotspots
The library has mobile hotspots available for borrowing. This policy
outlines how this takes place and other details related to borrowing them.
Photography & Video
The Huntington City-Township Public Library and Markle Branch
(The Library), both inside the building and on the property,
fall under the category of a public space. This policy outlines
who can take photographs or video recordings in the library,
and when.
Unattended Patrons
This policy explains how we deal with unattended patrons, or those
who do not have the guardian they are supposed to have
while in either library.
