Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
Want to borrow an item but we don't have it? Use Inter-Library Loan (ILL) to get it. Bring your library card to either HCTPL location and ask the library staff about requesting items through our Inter-Library Loan Service. You can also call (260) 356-0824 to request from home.
Here are some things to remember about ILL:
- You can borrow up to 5 items from other libraries at one time.
- Due dates are set by the borrowing library; we can only renew books if allowed by the borrowing library.
- To use ILL your account must be up current and any fines need to be less than $10.
- Not all libraries can or want to loan movies and audiovisual materials, these items may be harder to borrow than books.
- All requests are free; however, we do not request items from out of state libraries.
- If the item is a new release (6 months or newer) please ask us to request the item for our permanent collection.
We borrow from items from a state wide catalog called SRCS which connects 52 academic libraries and 113 public libraries around the state. If you want to search this catalog visit SRCS at www.srcs.library.in.gov and use the search box at the top to search for books, movies, and more.
